Freeman Artist Residency Wales

Launching in 2024, FAR Wales is an expansion of the Freeman Artist Residency currently based in Charlottesville, Virginia. Located at the former home and studio of artist Michael Freeman, the site contains an archive of over 800 artworks spanning 60 years by Freeman. The invitational residency will provide an opportunity for artists at a mature phase of their careers to undertake and develop a body of work in relation to the archive. Selected artists will be offered  accommodation & studio at the Freeman house, and are encouraged to mount an exhibition at the conclusion of their residency.

Athens, Greece

Freeman Κηνέβην is a hybrid space and former commercial propertry that will provide provisional residency and exhibition opportunies in the Kypseli district of Athens. Residency and exhibition opportunies will be by-invitation only and focus on artists that align with the mission statement of FAR.
